Flexible

Our platform is designed to be extended and we can help you deliver your digital strategy. From our base platform we work with you to develop functionality that is suitable for your specific business needs.

We have developed an Application Programming Interface (API) to stream data to on-premise applications or cloud-native applications.

On demand compute resources

Osokey's architecture enables data to be presented to other cloud-based services in a standardised way. This enables you to take advantage of the on demand compute resources within the cloud. These virtual machines can be tailored to meet the specific demands of your workload for anything from attribute generation to running your geoscience applications.

  • Batch processing
  • Attribute generation
  • Standardised QC of SEG-Y data
  • Algorithm development and testing

Corporate knowledge

Avoid data silos & Connect expertise to the data

You can select any seismic line from the map and view it instantly. Seismic lines and map co-ordinates can be instantly sent to all geoscientists within the session. This ensures that everyone in the collaboration session has the same view and is discussing the same thing.

Observations are directly connected to your data, ensuring that you can easily retrieve these insights in the future. These insights could help familiarise new team members with a project or dataset, drive data archiving & batch processing decisions and be used as input to machine learning algorithms.

Access layer
Minimise duplication

Minimise data duplication

By using public cloud technology for the storage, analysis and dissemination of SEG-Y data there are economies of scale benefits for the whole energy industry. In a typical seismic processing project multiple copies of the same data are created for internal backup and sharing with partners & National Data Repositories (NDRs) This mass duplication of can be avoided by using Osokey's technology.

Osokey's technology can consolidate data from multiple sources to help avoid data duplication. Data restrictions can added be to individual seismic lines to limit access to individual users, groups of users or even a third-party company.

Secure, cost effective storage

Is my data safe?

Your data is stored using cloud based object storage to provide durability and scaleability: https://aws.amazon.com/s3/details/#durability

We support the industry standard SEG Y Data Exchange format published by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).

Is my data secure?

Osokey's event-driven architecture separates Osokey code from your data. This keeps you in control and provides security, scaleability and cost benefits.

Osokey Stream follows security best practices, including:

  • User authentication using common identity management standards including OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0 and SAML 2.0
  • Data encryption at rest using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256)
  • Data encryption in transit using HTTPS (HTTP over Transport Layer Security) - View latest SSL Test
  • Signed URLs that time limit access to data - Test expired URL

Cloud infrastructure
Scaleable, reliable and global

Why public cloud?

Public cloud offers these benefits because of the economies of scale associated with having a global customer base. By using public cloud, the energy industry can benefit from other industries that are using public cloud. For example, machine learning developments made to improve video processing may lead to public cloud services that can be used with SEG-Y data.

Cost?

As an example the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Monthly Calculator (accessed 10/09/2018) has been used to calculate the following storage costs. These are based on storing the data in the EU (Ireland) region using the Amazon S3 Standard Storage Class.

  • SEG-Y (GB)
  • 1 GB
  • 10 GB
  • 1 TB (1,024 GB)
  • 10 TB (10,240 GB)
  • 100 TB (102,400 GB)
  • 1 PB (1,048,576 GB)
  • Cost ($ USD per month)
  • 0.03
  • 0.23
  • 23.56
  • 235.52
  • 2,304.00
  • 22,583.30

To understand what is included in these costs visit Amazon S3 Storage Classes. When comparing these costs with your on-premise costs you must consider the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). For example, the cloud costs include replication of data, energy costs and maintenance costs.
